COACHES COMMENTS
The summer season is well on its way and now is the time to start focusing on some important issues in swimming: stroke work and nutrition. In order to address both issues we are going to have the following clinics:
Tuesday, June 12, 2001 – Stroke clinic for all Bronze, Red and Blue groups (all pools)
held at Loos pool from 6:15pm-6:45pm. The swimmers in the National group will run the clinic. This is a great opportunity for the younger swimmers to learn from our older swimmers who have been at this sport for many years. Also, it’s a wonderful way for the kids to meet and interact with other teammates.THERE WILL NOT BE A BRONZE PRACTICE AT SMU ON JUNE 12TH.
Thursday, June 14, 2001
– Nutrition clinic open to all interested swimmers and parents. The clinic will be held at Loos from 6:00pm-6:30pm.Please make every effort to bring your swimmer to these instructional programs.
GENERAL REMINDERS
Texas Senior Circuit Long Course Meet #2, Sponsored by The Beck Group And Hosted by The Dallas Mustangs June 8-10, 2001
The Dallas Mustangs are hosting the second Texas Senior Circuit at SMU this weekend, June 8-10th. Anyone who wishes to help out by being a safety marshal or providing something for hospitality should contact the following parent volunteers:
Lilli Hansen (safety marshals) at 817-860-0882
Marie Blackman (hospitality) at 214-696-3008
If you have a swimmer who is participating in this meet, you can help out by sporting a red vest and being a safety marshal. Not only do you have the opportunity to be up close to the action, but you can work on your tan and feast at hospitality as well! There is a list of needs for hospitality at Loos and SMU.
This meet is a wonderful opportunity for younger swimmers to see "the best of the best" of swimming in Texas, so as Eddy Sinnott said at our banquet, "bring the family, make it a family-bonding experience".
In addition to the great swimming that will be had, it should be noted that one of our own swimming families has sponsored this meet. The Beck Group (parents of swimmer Spin Beck) has graciously stepped up and supported our team with its sponsorship. Please make sure to thank the Beck family for their generosity.

FUNDRAISING NEWS

Thank you to the Keller family for heading up the team garage sale. It was a lot of hard work setting up and taking down and we appreciate their efforts. The garage sale income was $1,100! Thanks too for all the donations from swimmers and their families!
Swim-A-Thon
The final tallies are in and thanks to the swimmers’ fundraising efforts, the team raised roughly $12,500. Way to go Mustangs!

Photos for Banquet
This is just a little reminder to everyone to keep taking pictures while at meets and team functions (i.e. the stroke clinic, the team trip). I will probably be doing the slide show again this year and while digital photos are best, regular photographs (that are bright and not grainy) can be scanned in with good results. As my daughter swims in the 13 and up age group, I will need photos from some of the meets that the younger children attend as well as photos from HP and CFB. Thanks - - Wendy Begg
