TEAM TRIP TO SHREVEPORT

Team Tryouts
Early team tryouts for the Dallas Mustangs will be held on August 7th and 8th at all three pools, prior to the team summer break. If you are aware of any friends who may be interested in joining the team, please invite them to tryout for the Dallas Mustangs. They won’t be disappointed and you will reap the rewards of swimmer referrals! Tryouts will also continue during the first week that we are back from summer break, September 5th – 8th.
SOCIAL NEWS
This summer's TAGS Fire Up party will be held at Loos on Monday, July 24th, at 6:00 p.m. Our TAGS swimmers will receive their T-shirts and EVERY MUSTANG SWIMMER is encouraged to come cheer on their teammates. All swimmers should bring $3.00 to cover the cost of refreshments at the party.
Also, we are looking for video that shows our swimmers in action at either or both of the last two TAGS championships. Home movies from either the March 2000 Short Course TAGS or the July 1999 Long Course TAGS would be greatly appreciated. If you have any video you would be willing to share, please contact Stuart Roth at 972-939-1451. Your originals will be returned unharmed!

SWIMMER ACADEMIC RECOGNITION
Even though school is out for the summer, there are those swimmers who did excel academically and need to be recognized! This month our congratulations go to Margaret Henderson, who swims with the Loos Gold group. Margaret graduated from the 8th grade at St. Pius X School, winning the medal for highest average in history and the medal for second highest over-all scholastic average for the last five years. She will attend Ursuline Academy next year.
Mustang swimmers are to be congratulated for their outstanding accomplishments! Please keep sending information regarding your swimmer’s achievements to Wendy Begg at
teg45@home.com or call 972-307-3128.FUNDRAISING UPDATES
This is just a reminder to use the Corporate Sponsorship packet that was mailed out to all swimming families over a month ago. Included in the packet was a letter addressed to each family explaining the contents of the packet; a sample letter to mail to employers or other corporations, inviting them to sponsor the Dallas Mustangs; and a brochure explaining the different sponsorship levels and benefits to the sponsoring company. If you need more brochures or sample letters, don’t hesitate to call Don Haney, Fundraising Chairman, and ask for more! He can be reached at 972-818-8484(H) or 972-661-8100(W).
