Mustangs Score a Flag at 2007 Short Course TAGS!

TAGS is the top qualifying championship meet for 14 and under swimmers throughout the state of Texas. This year’s meet was held at the University of Texas in Austin, TX from March 8 thru March 11th. Swimmers must achieve difficult time standards in individual events (usually between AA and AAA times) or qualify on a Mustang relay to attend this prestigious event.

Twenty-nine DM swimmers qualified for TAGS and enjoyed the taper in the weeks before!  Points are hard to come by at this meet…only the top 8 swimmers from the morning swims qualify for finals in the evening, unlike many other championship meets where there are two heats of finalists. Once again, the Mustangs displayed their depth and strength by finishing 10th place out of over 60 teams and bringing home yet another TAGS Flag to hang at Loos!

Special congratulations to our TAGS Champions Allison Arnold (200, 500, 1000, 1650 frees & 400 IM) and Taylor Temple (200 breast).  Allison also finished 1st in the high point battle for 14 year olds with 59 out of a possible 61 individual points

** Congratulations to all Mustangs who qualified to swim at TAGS **
