Mustangs Victorious at 2007 Chesapeake Elite Pro-Am!

The Mustangs wrapped up the 2007 swimming schedule with a successful trip to Oklahoma City for the 16th Annual Chesapeake Elite Pro-Am Swim Meet. This is always an exciting meet, bringing in teams from all over the country. This year’s meet also had its share of Olympians, including Aaron Peirsol, Ian Crocker, Neil Walker, Megan Jendrick, Rachel Komisarz, and Kristy Coventry. To spice things up even more than the great competition, the meet offered prize money for the professional athletes, paying $2,000 for one of the events!

The Mustangs competed extremely well as a team and came away as the overall team champions of the meet. Matt Thompson, Lauren Roth, Caleb Veazey and Allison Arnold scored points in all of their five individual events, and Spin Beck finished in the top three in four events. The Mustang relays stepped up again across the board, including wins in the Men’s 800 free relay and the Women’s 400 medley relay.
