Mustangs Finish Strong at 2006 U.S. Open!!
The Dallas Mustangs
traveled with eleven swimmers to Purdue
University for the last
and biggest US Open Championships.
Because United States Swimming has decided to move the Spring
Championships meet to the traditional US Open weekend on the first weekend of
December, the 2006 US Open was the last of it's
kind. This year's meet brought together
almost a thousand swimmers from all over the world, including twenty American
Olympians and several gold medalists from other federations. The result was the fastest US Open in the
meet's history, with 14 meet records falling.
The Mustangs were
led by individual scorers Spin Beck, Matt Thompson, Martina Moravcova,
and Flavia Rigamonti. With these individual efforts, along with
points from women's relays, the Mustangs finished in Sixth Place among all swim clubs competing. The following are the Mustangs' results from
the meet (the top sixteen finishers in individual and relay events score
points):
