Mustangs Fill Morning News 2005 All-Area Team

Dallas Mustangs’ dominated selections onto the 2005 All-Area Swim High School Swim Team announced by the Dallas Morning News on Sunday, May 1st, 2005.

Heading the list was Codie Hansen. Codie completed a stellar 4-year career at Arlington Lamar. She is the ONLY Texas 5A Swimming competitor to win state championships in every individual event she swam (total maximum of 8).  She was named as Texas women’s high school swimmer of the year during 3 of her 4 years and was named Dallas Morning News Girls Swimmer of the Year twice. She is the all-time Texas high school women’s record holder for the 100 and 500 free.

Alex Oldenkamp completed his senior year of competition at Coppell High School in style.  Alex won both the 5A 50 & 100 Freestyles and was named Dallas Morning News Boys Swimmer of the Year for 2005.

Alyssa Landino, a freshman at Flower Mound Marcus and Max Murphy, freshman at Flower Mound High School, were recognized as the Girls and Boys Newcomers of the Year by the Morning News.

Meredith Grubb – Junior – Hebron – 200 IM & 100 Free
