The Dallas Mustang Swim Team is proudly represented by four members of our age-group team at Olympic Trials. Candace Blackman, Katie Roberts and Codie Hansen qualified to swim at U.S. Trials. Katie Smith is swimming at Canadian Trials.

Katie Smith, 18, is a recent graduate of Hebron High School. She will be attending University of Michigan in the fall and is a recipient of a swimming scholarship. Katie, a native of Canada, has qualified to swim the 100 and 200 Back and the 200 IM in the trials. She is the TX 4A High School state record holder in the 100 Back and 200 IM.
Candace Blackman, 18, is a recent graduate of Highland Park High School. She will be attending SMU in the fall and is a recipient of a swimming scholarship. Candace, a former member of USA Swimming’s Junior National Team, has qualified to swim the 50, 100 and 200 Freestyle as well as the 100 Fly. She is the TX 4A High School state record holder in the 200 Free and 100 Fly while winning eight individual state titles during her high school competition.
Katie Roberts, 17, is a recent graduate of Colleyville Heritage High School. She will be attending SMU in the fall and is a recipient of a swimming scholarship. Katie has qualified to swim the 200 Freestyle and recently was winner of the 2004 Speedo Sectional in this event. Katie is a five-time medalist in the TX 5A High School swimming championships.
Codie Hansen, 17, will be a Senior at Lamar High School this fall. She is a former member and team captain of USA Swimming’s Junior National Team and has qualified to swim the 100 and 200 Freestyle at Trials. Codie is the TX High School State Record Holder in the 100 and 200 Freestyle. She has won 6 individual TX 5A High School titles. In 2002, Codie was U.S. National High School Champion in the 200 Freestyle.
