USA Swimming's National Championships wrapped up the short course season. This year's meet, March 19-23, took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Mustangs had their highest team finish in the club's history, forth place in the female team scores!
All of the six girls who
wore the Mustang colors contributed to the cause. Candace Blackman led
the charge by swimming well enough to step on the awards stand twice (100 fly -
5th and 50 free - 6th). Candace also scored in the 100 free (12th), as
did Codie Hansen (13th). This time for Codie qualified her for the United
States National Junior Team. This is
the second year in a row that the Mustangs have been represented on our
country's national junior team.
All of our relays received medals on the awards stand and we set another 15-16 girls National Record: 400 free relay - 3rd (Codie Hansen, Jennifer Blackman, Kenley Woods, Candace Blackman), 800 free relay - 3rd (Codie Hansen, Jennifer Blackman, Meredith Grubb, Candace Blackman), 400 medley relay - 7th (Codie Hansen, Kaileen Gersper, Candace Blackman, Jennifer Blackman).
Mustangs Rule the Pool!!!
