Dallas Mustangs 2001 Short Course Sectional Championships

(held in San Antonio, TX - March 2001)

The Dallas Mustangs put together a super team effort to finish in second place in the overall team standings at the inaugural Speedo Championship event. This event brings together the elite swimmers from all USA swim teams in the State of Texas.

Mustang relays provided quite a bit of punch, with our women's team victorious in the 400 Medley and 400 Free relays. The women also captured a 2^nd in the 800 Free relay and our "B" relay captured a 7^th place finish in the 400 Free relay. Our men brought home an 8^th place finish in the 400 Medley and a 4^th place finish in the 800 Free relay.

Strong performances continued throughout the meet. The following is a list of those Mustangs who scored individual points for the team:

Candace Blackman (50 free - 1^st, 100 free - 1^st, 200 free - 1^st, 500 free - 4^th, 100 fly - 1^st, 200 fly - 6^th)

Eric Gusa (50 free – 8^th, 100 fly - 5^th)

Codie Hansen (50 free - 6^th, 500 free - 5^th, 200 free - 2^nd, 100 back - 8^th, 100 free - 2^nd)

Andrew Hansen (50 free - 13^th, 200 free - 8^th)

Jennifer Blackman (50 free - 7^th, 100 fly - 13^th, 100 back - 10^th, 100 free - 5^th)

Kenneth Wherry (500 free – 16^th, 400 IM - 12^th, 200 fly - 10^th)

Kelly Cobourn (50 free – 14^th)

Jeff Girard (200 breast - 14^th)

Katie McClelland (500 free - 2^nd, 200 breast - 1^st, 200 free - 5^th, 100 breast - 1^st)

Dennis Bowsher (200 breast - 15^th)

Courtney Patterson (100 fly - 5^th, 200 IM - 4^th, 100 back - 3^rd, 200 back - 4^th)

Griffin Marshall (100 breast - 5^th)

Claire Henderson (200 IM - 12^th, 400 IM - 9^th, 1650 free - 5^th)

Kenley Woods (100 breast - 14^th)
